The 3rd round of Blood Donation Drive took place in Summit USJ, 1st floor in front of Popular on the 24th August 2008, Sunday. Committee members are OC Jose Lee, publicity by Kee Oi, Josephine, I-Lin and printing by Ivan Ho.
This event is to assist National Blood Bank to replenish their blood supply and also increase blood supply before the fasting month.
The event started at 11am and ended at 6pm. Members who attended are OC Jose Lee, President Darren, Kee Oi, Levin, Chin Hwa, Sharon, Kelvin, Gloria, Josephine, Kievan and Ivan Ho.
We start to set up at 10am. Summit complex provided us with 20 tables and 50 chairs. The National Blood Bank staff arrived at 11am. They have 12 beds for the donors. Donors are required to fill in their full details, blood are tested and pressure was taken before their blood was donated.
The project was running smooth but some donors can’t make it because the whole day was raining. There were some previous donor attended and some are introduced by friends, announcement, emails and sms. We also manage to pull some crowds from the shoppers. There are 97 people turn up but only 71 manage to donate. 26 people are rejected due to consuming alcohol 24 hours before donation, low level of iron and some under doctor’s medication.
This is my first time become OC and I would like to thanks all members who have help me in making this project successful!
